Frequently Asked Questions

From your Opera data, read live at each refresh: the Cashbook, sales and purchase ledgers, VAT, payroll and the other modules you switch on. Every figure opens to the Opera lines behind it.
What Opera holds today - bank balances, open invoices, payroll, VAT so far - is checked against Opera’s own totals to the penny at every refresh. If anything does not match, the forecast is marked PARTIAL and the difference is shown. Future dates are forecasts: when a customer pays depends on their behaviour, so you can back-test any saved forecast against what was actually banked.
13 weeks by default. You choose the length and whether it is shown by day, week, month, or 13 weeks then months.
Each customer’s invoices are dated by how late that customer has paid in the past, or by a promised date where one is recorded. Invoices already overdue appear in the first week, because Opera still shows them as owed. Items overdue for a long time are flagged and can be left out, and customers on stop or dormant are flagged.
No. Cashplan only reads Opera and never writes to it or changes its structure. Your adjustments and saved forecasts are kept in Cashplan’s own database.
No. On Opera SE every read is made so that it does not lock records, so a refresh cannot block Opera users. On the companies we have tested, a full refresh took a few seconds.
Cashplan runs inside your own Crakd platform, and access follows its users, roles and company permissions. Payroll is used as totals only - no employee-level figure is stored or shown. Every change records who made it, and remote access is off unless your administrator switches it on.
Opera SE (SQL Server) and Opera 3. Opera 3 is read through the Crakd platform.
The Crakd platform connected to your Opera companies. Cashplan installs on top and works from the first refresh.
Once the platform is connected, Cashplan installs and works from the first refresh with its default settings. Optional settings include Corporation Tax accounts, banks to leave out, a minimum cash level and which extra lines to switch on.
Each company has its own forecast and settings, and settings can be copied between companies. A group view combines the companies a user can open, converting currencies where needed.
Things Opera does not record - such as a Corporation Tax liability, or whether the bank has already paid a missed recurring entry. A setting or your own estimate covers these, and the line says so.
